Overview

Users should be able to publish to Snap.as via email, just like they can on Write.as.

Implementation

Add an email handler like on Write.as. The handler should look through all attachments.

  • If one attachment:
    • Store single photo
    • Email back with link to the photo?
  • If multiple attachments:
    • Store all photos in a gallery?
      • And set it to invisible?
      • With a generated temporary name?
      • Email back with link to the gallery?
    • Store all photos, but not in a gallery?

Questions

  • Handling inline photos vs. attachments
  • Adding captions / doing something with body text
  • Provide a separate email address for publishing a gallery, e.g.
    • Gallery: matt.gallery-name@snap.as
    • Non-gallery: matt@snap.as

There's been more discussion about this on the forum. Rather than making this a Snap.as-only feature, it'll make more sense to add this to our existing publish-via-email functionality on Write.as, and simply store the photos via Snap.as.
